What I offer

Three ways to work together

Everything happens in your home, where your dog actually lives — and every plan is shaped around one dog, one family, one set of goals.

Trainer working one-on-one with a dog during an in-home session

Private Training

One-on-one sessions in your home, built on positive reinforcement. We find what motivates your dog — food, praise, toys, affection — then build the plan around it, one step at a time.

  • Puppy & beginner foundations
  • Intermediate & advanced obedience
  • Loose-leash walking
  • Behavior modification
  • Scent work & tricks
  • Reactivity & separation anxiety

Evaluation

The first visit. I meet you and your dog, assess temperament and drive, help you clarify your goals, and map out the training plan before we begin.

Pet Sitting & Drop-Ins

In your home, on your dog's routine: walks, playtime, feedings, medication and plenty of attention. Training can be added to any stay.

The approach

Positive reinforcement is a relationship, not a shortcut.

Rewards aren't a trick to make a dog listen. They're how a dog learns that working with you is worth it. No fear, no intimidation — just a team that understands each other and enjoys the work.

01

Assess

Every dog is different. I find what drives yours before anything else.

02

Customize

A plan written for your goals, your home and your dog's temperament.

03

Coach

You learn to implement it step by step, so the results outlast the sessions.

Meet the trainer

Anna Ashmore

Anna's bond with dogs started early and never let up. A fascination with human and animal behavior led her to a degree in Behavioral Psychology, and from there into a career built entirely around dogs and the people who love them.

She has more than thirteen years of experience as a professional trainer: eight years at PetSmart helping hundreds of dogs and owners build a foundation of trust and mutual respect, private training alongside it, and four years with the San Diego Humane Society as a Humane Law Enforcement Officer.

She has worked with every breed, age and temperament, and she knows that what works for one dog may not work for the next. Her goal is simple: stronger, longer-lasting bonds between dogs and their owners — and training that both of them actually enjoy.

Kind words

What clients say

Anna helped us understand our puppy in ways we never expected. After just the evaluation, we had a clear plan and our pup was already listening better at home.
Sarah M.Puppy foundations · San Diego
Our reactive dog used to lunge at every dog on the sidewalk. Anna's patient, positive approach gave us tools that actually worked — walks are finally enjoyable.
Michael & JenBehavior modification · San Diego
We came home from vacation to a happy, relaxed dog. Anna sent updates, followed our routine perfectly, and even worked on leash manners while we were away.
